President William Ruto has dismissed reports claiming that the Social Health Authority (SHA) lost KSh 50 billion, terming the claims as propaganda circulating in news headlines.

Speaking during a joint parliamentary group meeting between members of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), the Head of State said such allegations were misleading and unfounded.

“Forget about the propaganda in the headline of the news that some KSh 50 billion can be lost. People are mad. If we lose KSh 50 billion, there will be nothing to pay hospitals,” said President Ruto.

He added that the government is continuing to fund health programmes, revealing that KSh 16.2 billion will be paid this week to support the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) and the Primary Health Care Program (PHC).
