The Office of Deputy President Kithure Kindiki is seeking an additional Sh1.8 billion in supplementary funding to support its operations, including salary payments, official trips, and institutional activities. This is due to the need to settle Sh472 million in debts from the previous financial year.

According to Public Service Secretary Moses Mbaruku, the office received Ksh3.07 billion in its initial budget but requires the additional funds to continue operations. MPs have raised concerns about the expenditure, particularly Ksh100 million allocated for air travel and Ksh350 million for hospitality.

The Deputy President's office has faced criticism over financial management, including allegations of misusing Ksh44 million on the Deputy President's spouse's office, which Mbaruku attributed to an error by the Accountant General's Office.
