NAIROBI, Kenya — Nairobi-born Emmanuel "The Lion" Mutua has been officially confirmed as the mandatory challenger for the WBC heavyweight championship, with the title fight scheduled to take place on April 18 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mutua, 29, earned the mandatory challenger status following a stunning first-round knockout of former world title contender Marcus Williams in London in November. The fight will be broadcast live on DSTV and streamed on YouTube in Kenya, with a start time of 4:00 AM EAT.

"I have been dreaming of this moment my whole life. I am ready. Africa is ready. On April 18, we bring the belt home."
